10/21/2026 9:00:00 AM

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — The West Liberty University women's soccer team returns to the road Wednesday for a Mountain East Conference matchup against Point Park, with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m. at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The Hilltoppers enter the contest at 2-11-2 overall and 2-10-1 in MEC play after earning a scoreless draw against Davis & Elkins on Sunday. Junior goalkeeper Kaisa Vale delivered a standout performance in the match, recording nine saves to preserve the clean sheet.

West Liberty has relied on Vale's presence in goal throughout the season. She has recorded 81 saves, a .743 save percentage and four shutouts through 14 appearances. Offensively, senior forward Kylie Collins leads the Hilltoppers with five goals and 10 points, while Allie Callahan has contributed one goal and two assists.

Point Park enters Wednesday's matchup at 9-5-1 overall and 9-3-1 in conference play, currently third in the MEC North Division with 28 points. The Pioneers have dropped their last two contests, falling 1-0 to Fairmont State on Oct. 14 before suffering a 2-0 loss at Frostburg State on Saturday.

Despite the recent setbacks, Point Park has been one of the conference's strongest defensive teams. The Pioneers have allowed just eight goals in 15 matches and recorded nine shutouts. Goalkeeper Nicole Kuchinski has been a key part of that success, posting 58 saves and a .906 save percentage.

The Pioneers are led offensively by Rebecca Pihlgren, who has recorded four goals and three assists for 11 points. Maya Figueroa and Eliya Adjo have added two goals apiece.

Point Park claimed the first meeting between the teams this season, earning a 2-0 victory at West Liberty on Sept. 9. The Hilltoppers will look to reverse that result Wednesday while seeking valuable points in the closing stretch of the MEC regular season.

Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh.
