WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — The West Liberty University women's basketball team returns to the ASRC on Wednesday evening to host Mountain East Conference rival Frostburg State. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in West Liberty.
The Hilltoppers enter the matchup at 5-6 overall and 2-2 in MEC play, coming off an 84–80 road victory at Davis & Elkins on Saturday. Frostburg State arrives with a 6-6 overall record and 3-3 conference mark, riding a two-game winning streak.
West Liberty has leaned on balanced scoring and perimeter shooting through the first half of the season, averaging 74.9 points per game, which ranks fourth in the MEC. The Hilltoppers have connected on 7.8 three-pointers per contest, nearly doubling their opponents' average from beyond the arc, while also forcing 18.2 turnovers per game and turning those miscues into 17.4 points per outing.
Individually, Anna Lucarelli leads the Hilltoppers at 16.8 points per game, adding 6.9 rebounds while playing nearly 33 minutes per contest. Jameka Brungard provides a strong inside presence, averaging 11.0 points and a team-best 7.5 rebounds, while shooting an efficient 57.6 percent from the floor. Ana-Isabel Andersson Rodriguez directs the offense with 12.0 points and a team-high 5.1 assists per game, and Olivia Baker adds a perimeter threat, averaging 13.0 points while knocking down better than three triples per game.
Frostburg State counters with a physical lineup that emphasizes rebounding and free-throw efficiency. The Bobcats average 37.2 rebounds per game, owning a +3.5 rebounding margin, and shoot an MEC-best 81.3 percent from the free-throw line. Julie Spinelli leads the Bobcats at 17.3 points per game, while Jenna Muha adds 13.9 points and 8.3 rebounds, giving Frostburg a formidable inside-out combination.
