Hilltoppers Pull Away in Second Half to Top Frostburg State, 117–94

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — West Liberty University used its trademark depth and defensive pressure to roll past Frostburg State, 117–94, Wednesday night at the ASRC, improving to 10-2 overall and a perfect 5-0 in Mountain East Conference play.

The Hilltoppers' bench delivered a dominant performance, accounting for 72 points, while West Liberty turned 25 Bobcat turnovers into 32 points. Frostburg State (7-6, 4-3 MEC) kept the contest within reach early, trailing by just seven at halftime, before the Hilltoppers took control after the break.

West Liberty set the tone with a fast-paced first half as Cameron Williams and Aiden Davis each knocked down early 3-pointers. A key momentum swing came at the 8:59 mark when Terrance Pankey Jr. converted a steal into a layup, igniting the Hilltoppers. The game featured several lead changes, but West Liberty closed the half strong to take a 52–45 advantage, fueled by consistent production in the paint.

The Hilltoppers pulled away in the second half behind efficient shooting and relentless defensive pressure. Williams sparked a decisive run with a layup and two free throws at the 15:43 mark, pushing the lead into double digits. West Liberty continued to build separation as its bench poured in 40 points in the half, and the team finished the night shooting 51.3 percent from the floor.

By the final horn, West Liberty had secured a convincing 117–94 victory.

Davis finished with 14 points, connecting on 4-of-6 attempts from 3-point range while adding three steals. Landon Butler contributed 11 points, six assists, and four steals, while Peter Lattos was perfect from the field, scoring 12 points on 6-of-6 shooting. Williams led all scorers with 16 points and went 6-for-8 from the free-throw line.

West Liberty returns to action on Saturday with a road trip to Fairmont State.
