WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — Three West Liberty University football student-athletes were recognized for their excellence on the field and in the classroom, earning spots on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Football Team.
Junus McGraw, Sawyer VanMatre, and Morgan Williamson each met the program's rigorous standards for academic and athletic achievement, which require nominees to be key contributors on the field while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
A sophomore defensive back from Anchorage, Alaska, McGraw carries a 3.85 GPA while majoring in Pre-Medical Laboratory Sciences. He has been a steady presence in the Hilltoppers' secondary while excelling in one of the university's most demanding academic programs.
VanMatre, a sophomore linebacker from Mason, West Virginia, posted a perfect 4.00 GPA as a Chemistry major. Known for his physical play and football IQ, VanMatre's academic performance reflects the same discipline and preparation he brings to the field each week.
Rounding out the trio is Morgan Williamson, a graduate student kicker from New Concord, Ohio. Williamson earned the honor while pursuing a Master of Business Administration and maintaining a 4.00 undergraduate GPA, exemplifying elite academic achievement at the graduate level.
The CSC Academic All-District program recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate outstanding academic accomplishments while competing at the highest levels of collegiate athletics.
