Balanced Attack Powers Hilltoppers to 90–72 Road Win at Point Park

PITTSBURGH — West Liberty used a dominant inside presence and outstanding bench production to secure a 90–72 victory over Point Park on Wednesday night at CCAC-Allegheny. The Hilltoppers led by 15 at halftime and never relinquished control, improving to 14-3 overall and 9-1 in Mountain East Conference play.

West Liberty finished with 42 points in the paint and received a significant boost from its reserves, who accounted for 47 bench points in the convincing road win.

The Hilltoppers set the tone early with aggressive play on both ends of the floor. Cameron Williams sparked the opening surge by controlling the glass and converting second-chance opportunities, helping West Liberty jump out to a 10–2 lead at the 15:21 mark. A decisive 9–0 run midway through the half — capped by a 3-pointer from Max Hurray — pushed the advantage to 27–7 with 9:32 remaining.

Point Park briefly found its rhythm, but West Liberty responded with steady execution down the stretch to close the half ahead 45–30.

West Liberty pulled away for good midway through the second half. Myles Montgomery ignited a fast-break sequence with back-to-back baskets at 15:38 and 15:24 to extend the lead to 55–46. Moments later, Dante Spadafora knocked down a jumper before Hurray connected on two three-pointers, stretching the margin to 69–48.

From there, the Hilltoppers maintained their tempo and composure, closing the game with a 45–42 scoring edge in the second half to secure the 18-point victory.

Montgomery delivered an all-around performance, finishing with 15 points, seven steals, and six assists. Jamie Muldowney recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Hurray added 11 points, knocking down three shots from beyond the arc. Peter Lattos anchored the defense with two blocked shots and chipped in four points.

West Liberty returns home Saturday to host Wheeling at 4 p.m. inside the ASRC as part of Basketball Alumni Day.
