West Liberty Women Set for Wednesday Road Test at Point Park

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — The West Liberty University women's basketball team heads back on the road Wednesday night for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff at Point Park inside the Academic, Sports and Recreation Center.

The Hilltoppers enter the midweek contest with a 5-11 overall record and 2-7 mark in Mountain East Conference play, while the Pioneers come in at 3-11 overall and 1-9 in league action.

West Liberty looks to bounce back after a tough stretch and will try to build on a dominant series history against Point Park. The Hilltoppers are 7-0 all-time against the Pioneers, including a 77-61 victory in West Liberty on Dec. 6.

West Liberty averages 73.6 points per game, ranking fifth in the MEC, and is one of the league's most prolific perimeter shooting teams. The Hilltoppers knock down 7.8 three-pointers per game, more than double their opponents' average (3.6), while shooting 31.8 percent from beyond the arc.

Senior guard Anna Lucarelli leads the way offensively at 15.4 points per game, while also ranking among the conference leaders in assists. Bailee Smith has made an immediate impact, averaging 28.3 points per game in limited action, and Olivia Baker adds 14.0 points per contest while shooting 38 percent from three-point range.

Inside, Jameka Brungard provides a steady presence, averaging 10.3 points and 6.3 rebounds, while Ana-Isabel Andersson contributes 10.1 points per game and solid two-way play.

Point Park enters Wednesday averaging 63.5 points per game while allowing 73.6, with a rebounding advantage of +2.7 per game. The Pioneers are led by Camille Fultz (14.3 ppg), Elizabeth Boyd (11.7 ppg, 8.6 rpg), and Alexis Giles (11.5 ppg).

The Pioneers have struggled with turnovers, averaging 18.2 per game, an area the Hilltoppers will look to exploit.
