West Liberty Volleyball Hosts Salem Tuesday at ASRC

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — The West Liberty University volleyball team returns home Tuesday night to host Salem University in non-conference action inside the ASRC. First serve is set for 7 p.m.

The Hilltoppers (6-9, 0-1 MEC) are looking to bounce back after dropping their conference opener at Charleston on Friday. Through 15 matches, West Liberty is averaging 11.6 kills per set and hitting .178 as a team, led offensively by Ashley Cudnik (152 kills, 2.92/set), Liv McAtee (106 kills, 1.96/set), and Kyia White (99 kills, 2.15/set). Setter Dakoda Keni has orchestrated the attack with 297 assists (5.50/set), while libero Bella Dart leads the defense with 188 digs (3.48/set). At the net, Grace Hill (37.0 blocks) and Adrienne Staib (32.0 blocks) anchor the Hilltopper block.

Salem (7-3) enters Tuesday's contest hitting .184 as a team and holding opponents to a .117 percentage. The Tigers are paced by Marika Righi (116 kills, .228 hitting) and Valentina Poti (107 kills, 129 digs), while Ana Julia Avila Vian leads the back row with 180 digs (5.45/set). Salem has also been strong from the service line, recording 72 aces across 10 matches (2.2/set).

West Liberty has controlled the series with Salem over the past decade, winning each of the last 11 meetings. The Hilltoppers swept the Tigers in both matches last season, dropping just one set in the process.
