CLARION, Pa. – The West Liberty University women's golf team wrapped up play at the Golden Eagle Autumn Invitational on Sunday afternoon, finishing fourth in the team standings at Clarion Oaks Golf Club.
The Hilltoppers improved on their opening-round score by 12 strokes in Sunday's final round, carding a team total of 107 after Saturday's 119. West Liberty closed the 36-hole event at +226.
Sara Simon led the way for the Black and Gold with one of the top rounds of the tournament on Sunday. After posting an opening-round 86, Simon bounced back with a steady 77 in Round Two to finish tied for sixth overall at +19. Her final round tied for the second-lowest score on the day across the entire field.
Hannah Shepherd was next for WLU, finishing tied for 16th at +37 (89-92). Brooke Perri carded rounds of 110 and 102 to place 23rd at +68, while Reese Ward rounded out the Hilltopper lineup in 24th at +102 (122-124).
Host Clarion University captured the team title at +65, edging Seton Hill (+72) by seven strokes. Concord placed third at +112. Seton Hill's Ali Boyle earned medalist honors, finishing at +5 for the tournament after rounds of 74 and 77.
