PIPESTEM, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's golf team wrapped up play at the Pipestem Collegiate on Tuesday, finishing third overall in the team standings at Pipestem Resort State Park.

The Hilltoppers posted a two-round team score of +263, improving by 29 strokes from their opening round. Concord (+124) claimed the team title, followed by Glenville State's "B" squad (+128).

Sara Simon paced West Liberty with a strong showing, firing a second-round 79 to climb into a tie for fourth place overall at +23 (167). She joined Concord's Kendra Lugo and Bluefield State's Candela Lopez Prino in the top five of a competitive field.

Hannah Shepherd also cracked the top 15, finishing tied for 12th place at +38 (182) after carding back-to-back rounds in the 90s. Brooke Perri and Reese Ward rounded out the lineup, finishing 17th (+92) and 18th (+110), respectively.

Individually, Wheeling's Ella Keffer took medalist honors at +6, while Concord's Lugo (+15) and Lopez Prino (+18) completed the podium.

The Hilltoppers will be back in action next Monday and Tuesday at the Fairmont State Invitational at Green Hills Country Club.
