WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – A new Hilltopper tradition is set to begin this fall as the West Liberty University women's soccer team hosts the inaugural Ohio Valley Soccer Night on Wednesday, September 17, when the Hilltoppers take on rival Wheeling University under the lights at the West Family Athletic Complex. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
The Hilltoppers are inviting players, coaches, and teams from across the Ohio Valley to come together for an evening of soccer celebration. Admission is FREE, and fans will have the chance to help set a new program attendance record.
"This is a great opportunity to bring the local soccer community together," head coach Pete McMenemy said. "We want to showcase the talent in our area, create an exciting atmosphere for our players, and give fans a night to remember."
In addition to the high-energy NCAA Division II matchup, fans can enjoy a festive game-day atmosphere. Chick-fil-A will be on site, serving up fan favorites, and local youth soccer teams are strongly encouraged to attend, with all squads receiving a special public recognition during the match.
Mark your calendars, wear your black and gold, and make plans to be part of this special first-ever Ohio Valley Soccer Night – the start of a new Hilltopper tradition.
