7/9/2025 12:03:00 PM

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — In a testament to his excellence both in competition and the classroom, West Liberty University's Ty McGeary has been named to his third straight College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All‑America® Men's At‑Large team—with selection to the First Team for the second consecutive year.

McGeary, a Cyber Security major with a 3.69 GPA, was also recently named a CSC Academic All‑District® honoree for the third time.

On the mat, McGeary's career has been nothing short of legendary. He recently capped an illustrious wrestling journey by capturing his third straight NCAA Division II national title at 184 pounds in March 2025, finishing the season with a sterling 33–1 record.

He joins a prestigious group of three-time champions and is widely regarded as the most decorated athlete in West Liberty's athletic history.

During his dominant tenure, McGeary became the first wrestler in both West Liberty and Mountain East Conference history to win four consecutive conference championships, elevating the program at every turn.

Off the mat, he's been equally unstoppable. In addition to his CSC honors, McGeary was named a NWCA Scholar All‑American, MEC Male Scholar‑Athlete of the Year, and MEC Male Athlete of the Year in 2024 and 2025.

With a career résumé that includes a nearly unblemished 132–7 record, three national championships, four conference titles, and unwavering academic performance, McGeary stands as one of the most respected student-athletes ever to wear the Black and Gold.
