West Liberty, W.Va. — For the second consecutive year, the West Liberty University women's basketball team has earned a spot in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25, coming in at No. 19 nationally with a team GPA of 3.715.
This marks the second straight season that head coach Kyle Cooper's squad has been ranked inside the top 20, and the 10th overall appearance for the Hilltoppers in the national academic rankings since the 2001-02 season. West Liberty's highest finish came in 2003–04, when the team placed an impressive fourth in the nation.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes women's basketball programs across all divisions that maintain the highest cumulative team GPAs among student-athletes for the entire academic year. The 2024-25 season marks the 30th year the WBCA has compiled its honor roll.
West Liberty stands out as the only Mountain East Conference program represented in this year's NCAA Division II Top 25.
