WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) recently announced the 2025 Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team, recognizing the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance in the classroom and in competition. The at-large category includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, volleyball, water polo, and wrestling.

West Liberty University was well represented with three Hilltoppers earning Academic All-District® honors: wrestlers Ty McGeary and Parker Bentley, and golfer Justin Doerr.

McGeary, a graduate student in the Accelerated MBA program, earns his third career Academic All-District® selection and was once again named a finalist for the prestigious Academic All-America® Team after being named a First Team Academic All-American last year. He carries a 3.69 GPA and also received the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Scholar All-America Award earlier this year.

On the mat, McGeary capped his illustrious career with a dominant 33-1 season record, finishing with an overall mark of 132-7. Over his final two seasons, he compiled a near-perfect 66-1 record. The two-time national champion made history as the first wrestler in both school and Mountain East Conference (MEC) history to win four consecutive conference titles. Widely regarded as the most decorated wrestler in program history, McGeary stands among the elite student-athletes ever to represent West Liberty.

Bentley, a redshirt sophomore from Inwood, W.Va., earned his first Academic All-District® honor. He boasts a 3.90 GPA in General Studies and, like McGeary, was also honored with a 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Scholar All-America Award.

Doerr, a sophomore golfer from Wheeling, W.Va., made his first appearance on the Academic All-District® Team as well. He holds a perfect 4.00 GPA while majoring in accounting.
