MANHEIM, Pa. – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced its 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Scholar All-America Awards on Monday, and West Liberty University made its mark once again—finishing 15th in the nation with a team GPA of 3.339.
In addition to the team recognition, nine standout Hilltopper wrestlers were named NWCA Scholar All-Americans, highlighting the program's commitment to excellence both on the mat and in the classroom.
West Liberty's Scholar All-Americans:
To earn Scholar All-American status, student-athletes met at least one of the following benchmarks:

Earned All-American honors at the 2025 NCAA DII National Championships with a minimum 3.00 GPA

Qualified for the NCAA DII National Championships with a minimum 3.25 GPA

Competed in four or more events and maintained a GPA of 3.50 or higher
The NWCA calculates team GPA using the 10 wrestlers designated as starters at each program's NCAA Super Regional Tournament.
Head Coach Danny Irwin praised the team's academic achievement:
"I like seeing us finish so well on the academic side. We pride ourselves in pushing our student-athletes to be the best in everything our name is on! We want to continue to make this the normal here on the Hilltop!"
With nine Scholar All-Americans and a top-15 national finish in team GPA, West Liberty Wrestling continues to set the standard for academic and athletic excellence in NCAA Division II.
