West Liberty Women’s Basketball Hosts Wheeling on Senior Day

West Liberty, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's basketball team is set to close out the regular season with a rivalry showdown against Wheeling on Saturday at the ASRC, as the Hilltoppers celebrate Senior Day.

Last Time Out

West Liberty (9-18, 6-13 MEC) enters the matchup after an 87-63 victory over Salem. The Hilltoppers showcased their perimeter shooting, draining a season-high 18 three-pointers. Karli Anker led the way with 20 points and six triples, while Bailee Smith (18 points, three threes), Jenna Riccardo (16 points, seven rebounds), and Olivia Baker (10 points, three threes) all contributed to the offensive outburst. Anna Lucarelli filled the stat sheet with seven points, nine rebounds, and 10 assists.

Rivalry Renewed

Saturday marks the 105th meeting between West Liberty and Wheeling, with the Hilltoppers holding a 57-47 edge in the all-time series. However, the Cardinals claimed the first matchup this season, winning 67-51 on Jan. 25.

Senior Day Celebration

The Hilltoppers will honor five seniors before tip-off: Karli Anker, Bailey Beckstedt, Paige Julian, Jenna Riccardo, and Natalija Sekulovska.
