West Liberty, W.Va. — The West Liberty University softball team is set to take the field this weekend as they compete in the Salem University Tournament at The Bridge Sports Complex. The Hilltoppers will play four games over three days, beginning Friday against Malone.
West Liberty (2-4) enters the tournament after a solid showing at the Bear Bash hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne University. The Hilltoppers finished the weekend 2-2, highlighted by an impressive 6-5 extra-inning victory over No. 19 Lenoir-Rhyne on Sunday. Several players stepped up in the upset win:
