University Heights, Ohio – Alec Cook and Breagan Pearson led the way for West Liberty University wrestling on Sunday, each securing championship victories at the John Carroll Open, the Hilltoppers' final regular-season event.
Cook Dominates at 165 lbs.
Cook captured the 165 lb. Navy Division title in dominant fashion, winning the final by technical fall (17-2). His path to the championship included a pair of major decision victories, winning 14-3 and 12-1.
Pearson Wins All-West Liberty Final at 174 lbs.
In the 174 lb. Gold Division, it was an all-West Liberty championship match as Pearson faced teammate Gabe Blissenbach. Pearson secured the title via forfeit.

In the 197 lb. Gold Division, Brandon Johnson claimed third place, winning by forfeit over teammate Luke Justice.
