West Liberty's No. 10-ranked wrestling team delivered a commanding performance against No. 12 Lake Erie, securing a 27-11 dual meet victory on a special Senior Night. The Hilltoppers won seven of the ten bouts, using a mix of decision wins, a technical fall, and a pin to overpower the Storm.

The night was particularly emotional as West Liberty honored its seniors—Alec Cook, Breagan Pearson, Ty McGeary, Jordan Watters, and Carter Winegardner—before the match.

It was an especially memorable farewell for No. 1-ranked Ty McGeary, a two-time national champion, who wrestled at home for the final time. McGeary put on a dominant display, capping off his home career in style with a 20-3 technical fall victory over Jordan Barnett in 6:58 at 184 pounds.

• 125: Logan Davis (WLU) set the tone early with a tight 4-2 decision over Braden Hahlen.

• 133: James Armstrong Jr. (WLU) followed up with another close decision, edging Anthony Sagaris 8-6.

• 141: Christian Small (LEC) put the Storm on the board, winning a tiebreaker battle against Khyvon Grace, 7-6.

• 149: Anthony Wood (WLU) answered with a 6-1 decision over Austin Fietz.

• 157: Matthew Kaufmann (LEC) kept Lake Erie in the match, taking a 4-2 win over Toby Abbott.

• 165: Jack Haskin (LEC) scored the biggest individual win for the Storm, dominating Breagan Pearson with a 19-3 tech fall at 4:57.

However, West Liberty took over from there.

• 174: Carter Winegardner (WLU), wrestling in his final home match, secured a 6-3 decision over Vincent Scaramuzzino.

• 184: Ty McGeary (WLU) stole the show in his last home bout, delivering a 20-3 technical fall in 6:58 over Jordan Barnett.

• 197: Devon Bell (WLU) put the match out of reach, pinning Quinn Gorman in just 2:53.

• 285: Parker Bentley (WLU) closed out the night with a 9-1 major decision over Jordan Smith.
