WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — Junior middle blocker Adrienne Staib has been named this week's Hilltopper of the Week after playing a key role in West Liberty's two victories last week over Salem and West Virginia State.
Staib anchored the Hilltoppers at the net, combining for 11 total blocks across the two matches — including eight block assists in Friday's Senior Night win over the Yellow Jackets. She also added seven kills, highlighted by a .625 hitting percentage in the sweep at Salem earlier in the week.
A consistent force in the middle all season, Staib continues to lead the team in blocking with 71 total blocks (17 solo, 54 assists), while maintaining an impressive .281 hitting percentage on the year. Her defensive presence has been instrumental in West Liberty's success, helping the Hilltoppers climb to 15-11 overall and 7-3 in MEC play heading into Tuesday night's home contest with Point Park.
