GREENSBURG, Pa. — West Liberty University fell to Seton Hill, 93–68, on Tuesday morning during the Griffins' annual Education Day Game at the Katherine Mabis McKenna Center. The Hilltoppers (2–3) opened with a strong first quarter, but turnovers and cold shooting stretches allowed Seton Hill to pull away as the game progressed.
West Liberty came out aggressive, scoring 26 first-quarter points and pushing the pace effectively. Dria Parker opened the scoring with a three-pointer at 8:48, and the Hilltoppers continued to attack in transition. Ana-Isabel Andersson provided a spark with a fast-break layup at 5:02, while Halley Smith buried a tying three at 3:49. A late drive from Anna Lucarelli put WLU ahead 26–22 after the first period.
The Hilltoppers briefly extended their lead to six in the second quarter after Lucarelli knocked down a pair of free throws at 8:13. However, Seton Hill responded with a surge, capitalizing on turnovers and stringing together multiple fast-break scores. West Liberty struggled to regain rhythm offensively, shooting just 16.7% in the quarter, and trailed 44–37 at halftime.
Seton Hill continued to build momentum in the third quarter as West Liberty's turnovers proved costly. Katie Lucarelli's early layup trimmed the deficit to 44–39, and Smith added another three at the 6-minute mark, but the Griffins converted nine WLU turnovers into separation. By the end of the third, the Hilltoppers faced a 72–50 deficit.
West Liberty continued to battle in the fourth, highlighted by an Andersson three-pointer at 8:21 and a layup at 7:34. But Seton Hill maintained control with timely scoring and defensive pressure, closing out the morning matchup with a 93–68 victory.
Despite the loss, the Hilltoppers posted 36 points in the paint and secured 44 rebounds but were hampered by 24 turnovers that translated into 28 Seton Hill points.
