WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — Senior guard Anna Lucarelli, a 5-foot-8 standout from Pittsburgh, Pa. has been named the Hilltopper of the Week after a dominant opening weekend that helped spark the West Liberty University women's basketball team to a 1–1 start.

Lucarelli was exceptional across the first two games of the season, averaging 20.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per contest while shooting 50% from the field and 50% from three. Her all-around impact set the tone for a Hilltopper squad that topped 78 points per game on opening weekend.

She opened the season with a well-rounded performance in Friday's win over Edinboro, posting 19 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and a block while attacking the rim and distributing with confidence. Lucarelli followed that up with another outstanding effort on Saturday, leading the Hilltoppers with 22 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals against California (PA).

Through two games, Lucarelli has totaled 41 points, 18 rebounds, 11 assists, and 5 steals, all while logging 61 minutes and committing only seven turnovers as the team's primary ball-handler.

The Hilltoppers hit the road for the first time this season when they visit Ursuline Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
