DANIELS, W.Va. — West Liberty University's Sara Simon continued her strong play at The Resort at Glade Springs on Tuesday, earning a spot in Wednesday's final round of the Mountain East Conference Women's Golf Championship.
Simon carded a 10-over-par 82 in the second round, improving by 10 strokes from Monday's opening round to finish the day in 15th place overall at +30. Her consistent performance across the front and back nine secured her a berth among the top individuals advancing to the championship's final round.
As a team, West Liberty posted a two-day total of +343 (175–168) to stand eighth after 36 holes. Hannah Shepherd finished second on the Hilltopper leaderboard at +72, followed by Brooke Perri (+94) and Reese Ward (+147).
Charleston (WV) maintained its lead in the team standings at +51, followed by Glenville State (+78) and Fairmont State (+165). Charleston's Mari Filippa Larsen holds the individual lead at +6 through two rounds.
The championship concludes Wednesday morning with the final 18 holes at Glade Springs' Stonehaven Course.
