DANIELS, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's golf team wrapped up the opening round of the 2025 Mountain East Conference Women's Golf Championship on Monday at The Resort at Glade Springs, finishing the day in eighth place in the team standings.
The Hilltoppers posted a team total of +175 (368) on the par-72 Course, led by Sara Simon, who carded a 92 (+20) to sit in 17th place individually after Day One.
Hannah Shepherd followed with a 107 (+35), while Brooke Perri (118) and Reese Ward (146) rounded out West Liberty's scoring lineup.
Charleston (WV) holds the top spot after the first round with a team score of +34, followed by Glenville State (+41) and Fairmont State (+93). Charleston's Mari Filippa Larsen leads the individual field with a 77 (+5), while teammate Gabrielle Harrison and WV Wesleyan's Isabella Briceno are tied for second at +7.
The 54-hole championship continues Tuesday morning with the second round at Glade Springs.
