West Liberty Volleyball Travels to Salem for Tuesday Night Matchup

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — The West Liberty University women's volleyball team will look to keep its strong play rolling when it heads to Salem University on Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. matchup in Salem, W.Va.

The Hilltoppers (13–11, 6–3 MEC) have won seven of their last nine matches and are coming off a hard-fought four-set battle at Concord on Saturday. West Liberty currently ranks among the top offensive teams in the Mountain East, hitting .207 as a team while holding opponents to just .155. The Hilltoppers also own an edge at the net, averaging 1.9 blocks per set compared to opponents' 1.6.

Ashley Cudnik leads the Hilltoppers' attack with 266 kills and a .212 hitting percentage, while Liv McAtee adds 170 kills and Kyia White contributes 142. Setter Dakoda Keni has been a steady presence, totaling 598 assists (7.2 per set) and 22 service aces on the year. Defensively, Bella Dart anchors the back row with 309 digs, followed by Cudnik (237) and Keni (200). At the net, Grace Hill (62 blocks) and Adrienne Staib (60) lead a strong blocking unit.

Salem (10–11) enters Tuesday's contest after a straight-set loss to Charleston on Saturday. The Tigers are led by Marika Righi, who has 232 kills and a .214 hitting percentage, while Valentina Poti adds 186 kills and 224 digs. As a team, Salem is hitting .145 and averaging 2.0 aces per set.

West Liberty has dominated the all-time series, winning each of the last 12 meetings, including a 3–0 sweep earlier this season on Sept. 30 at the West Family Athletic Complex. In that match, the Hilltoppers hit .291 with nine service aces and limited Salem to just .026 hitting.

Following Tuesday's contest, West Liberty returns to Mountain East Conference play this weekend with a Friday home match against West Virginia State at the ASRC.
