WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — The West Liberty University volleyball team looks to keep its momentum rolling this weekend with a pair of Mountain East Conference road matches. The Hilltoppers travel to Glenville State on Friday at 5 p.m. before heading to Concord for a Saturday morning matchup at 10 a.m. in Athens.
West Liberty (12-10, 5-2 MEC) enters the weekend riding a three-match winning streak after sweeping Wheeling, Davis & Elkins, and West Virginia Wesleyan at home. The Hilltoppers have hit a collective .200 on the season while holding opponents to just .152, and they currently sit atop the MEC North Division standings alongside Wheeling.
Leading the offense is setter Dakoda Keni, who was named this week's MEC Offensive Player of the Week after a standout stretch in which she directed a balanced Hilltopper attack to three consecutive sweeps. Keni has totaled 515 assists on the year, while Olivia Beldean adds 212 more to keep the offense running efficiently.
Ashley Cudnik continues to pace the team with 226 kills, followed by Liv McAtee (153) and Kyia White (131). Defensively, Bella Dart anchors the back row with 278 digs, and Grace Hill leads the front line with 54 total blocks. West Liberty's serving has also been a strength, with White, Amira DuPree, Keni, and Adrienne Staib all posting 18 or more aces this season.
As a team, the Hilltoppers are averaging 12.2 kills, 15.8 digs, and 1.8 blocks per set, out-hitting and out-digging their opponents through 22 matches.
Glenville State (10-12, 2-5 MEC) has won two straight, but West Liberty has dominated the all-time series — winning 14 consecutive meetings dating back to 2010, including last year's 3-0 sweep in the ASRC.
Concord (18-2, 6-1 MEC) sits near the top of the South Division and enters the weekend on a six-match winning streak. The Hilltoppers and Mountain Lions split a pair of matchups last fall, with West Liberty claiming a 3-1 victory during the regular season.
Following the weekend trip, the Hilltoppers will stay on the road with a non-conference match at Salem on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
