CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Charleston in Mountain East Conference action Wednesday night at Welch Athletic Complex.

The Golden Eagles struck early, finding the back of the net just 1:36 into the match on a goal from Martin Echarren to take a 1-0 lead. UC doubled its advantage 13 minutes later and carried a 2-0 cushion into halftime.

Charleston added its third and final goal midway through the second half at the 66:07 mark to put the match out of reach.

With the loss, West Liberty falls to 2-4-3 overall and 1-3-2 in MEC play. The Hilltoppers return home Sunday to host West Virginia Wesleyan at the West Family Athletic Complex. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
