West Liberty Women’s Basketball Travels to Charleston for MEC Clash

West Liberty, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's basketball team hits the road Saturday for a Mountain East Conference matchup against the University of Charleston at 5:30 p.m. inside the Wehrle Innovation Center.

Hilltoppers Riding Momentum

West Liberty (7-12, 5-7 MEC) enters the contest following a 76-69 victory over West Virginia State on Wednesday. In that win, several players delivered standout performances:

Lucarelli also surpassed the 150 career assist mark in the game and now sits at 153.

Scouting Charleston

Charleston (11-8, 7-5 MEC) is coming off a 56-48 loss at Wheeling and will look to rebound at home. The Golden Eagles won the first meeting between the teams earlier this season at the ASRC and have taken three straight in the series. West Liberty is aiming for its first win in Charleston since Feb. 5, 2022.

Players to Watch

  • Bailee Smith continues to lead the MEC in three-point shooting percentage (38.4%), knocking down 48 triples this season.

  • Charleston will aim to slow down West Liberty's perimeter attack, as the Hilltoppers rely on outside shooting to fuel their offense.
