West Liberty, W.Va. – After a two-week road stretch, the West Liberty University women's basketball team is set to return to the ASRC on Wednesday for a Mountain East Conference showdown against West Virginia State. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
The Hilltoppers (6-12, 4-7 MEC) will look to bounce back from a tough 67-51 loss at Wheeling on Saturday. Anna Lucarelli and Jenna Riccardo led West Liberty in scoring with 11 points each, while Bailee Smith chipped in 10 points.
Series History
This will be the 64th meeting between West Liberty and West Virginia State, with the Hilltoppers holding a 43-20 advantage in the all-time series. The two teams last met on Dec. 14 in Institute, W.Va., where West Liberty secured a thrilling 80-78 victory. Karli Anker led all scorers in that game with 23 points, including six three-pointers and 11 rebounds.
