West Liberty, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's basketball team suffered an 87-59 loss to Fairmont State in Mountain East Conference action Saturday at the ASRC.
The Hilltoppers (5-9, 3-4 MEC) held an early 10-9 lead midway through the first quarter, but the Falcons (11-3, 6-2 MEC) responded with a game-changing 16-0 run to close the quarter ahead 25-10.
Fairmont State extended their momentum into the second quarter, but West Liberty showed resilience, cutting the deficit to 36-25 with 2:36 left in the half. However, the Falcons finished strong with a 6-0 run to carry a 41-25 lead into the break.

The Hilltoppers will look to bounce back on Wednesday when they host Concord at 5:30 p.m. in another conference matchup at the ASRC.
