West Liberty Falls in Road Contest at Pitt-Johnstown

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - Two first-half Mountain Cats goals gave Pitt-Johnstown the victory over West Liberty in non-conference action at Richland High School in Johnstown, Pennsylvania this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Mountain Cat scored their first goal in the 19th minute with Haley Neidig connecting off a Sophie Lamesta pass that found the back of the net 

  • The Hilltoppers attempted 5 shots-on-goal throughout the afternoon and 8 shots in the second half  but couldn't sneak one past the Mountain Cat goalkeeper 

  • In the 73rd minute Isabella Aperfine drove a shot towards the left side of the net, but the shot was saved by UPJ goalkeeper Emma Mornin 

  • Morin halted all five of the Hilltopper shot-on-goal attempts recording 5 saves and a clean sheet in the non-conference matchup
