Bridgeport, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference announced their Academic All-MEC and Commissioner's Honor Roll teams for the 2024 winter and spring sports seasons, recognizing the sports of men's wrestling, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's track & field (indoor and outdoor), men's and women's basketball, acrobatics & tumbling, softball, women's lacrosse, men's and women's tennis, and baseball.
West Liberty saw a total of 116 student-athletes recognized by the conference with 73 earning a spot on their respective Academic All-MEC teams for posting grade-point averages of 3.70-4.00 during the 2024 spring semester. Individuals earning Commissioner's Honor Roll honors were recognized for GPAs of 3.25-3.69.
Led by the baseball program with 20, WLU saw seven teams with double figure student-athletes earning recognition, joined by women's track & field (17), softball (16), men's wrestling (16), acrobatics & tumbling (14), women's basketball (13), and men's track & field (12). The women's track & field team led the way with 12 individuals' earning a spot on the Academic All-MEC Team and were joined by women's basketball (11), men's wrestling (11), and acrobatics & tumbling (10) who had double figure athletes earn recognition. On the Commissioner's Honor Roll, the Hilltopper baseball team had 12 athletes earn honors.
