Salvatori Selected as D2CCA All-Atlantic Region Second Team

West Liberty, W.Va. – Announced on Thursday morning by the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) and voted on by the region's members of the College Sports Communicators (CSC), James Salvatori of the West Liberty University baseball team has secured another regional accolade. After a standout year he has been voted as D2CCA All-Atlantic Region Second Team and adds to his postseason honors of All-MEC First Team and NCBWA All-Atlantic Region First Team following the 2024 season.

Salvatori, a junior outfielder from Wheeling, West Virginia, made 44 starts and appearances while recording a .355 batting average, a .409 on-base percentage, a .748 slugging percentage, and a 1.157 on-base plus slugging percentage. He totaled 55 hits, ten doubles, six triples, 13 homeruns, 47 RBI, and 37 runs scored. He notched 20 multi-hit games this year, including a season-high of four in a game at California (PA). The 2-time MEC Player of the Week (March 11 and 25) also claimed one NCBWA Atlantic Region Hitter of the Week award on March 12. He tied the West Liberty single-season triples, homeruns, and RBI records. He ranks first and fifth in the conference in triples and homeruns, while nationally in NCAA Division II he ranks 14th in triples, 27th in slugging percentage, and 93rd in homeruns.
