HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1
- Glenville State capitalized on three hits in the top of the first inning to strike first in the opening game of Monday's doubleheader as an RBI single to right center brought home one run to give them a 1-0 advantage.
- West Liberty was held without a hit or a base runner until the bottom of the fifth inning when Shelby Harris notched the lone hit of the contest for the Black & Gold, knocking a double to left center, however a strikeout and a pop up to third base would end the frame.
- While the Hilltopper bats were quiet throughout the contest, Madison Angus did her part in keeping the game close as a 3-up, 3-down top of the sixth for the Pioneers marked their fifth consecutive scoreless inning as they were limited to only three hits during that time span.
- GSU scored the final run of the contest in the top of the seventh inning as a lead off walk led to the runner eventually scoring on a passed ball later in the frame to make it 2-0.
- WLU tallied a pair of base runners in the bottom of the sixth and seventh innings, as Kayla Mancuso and Harris each drew 2-out walks respectively, however West Liberty was never able to spark a rally as each frame came to a close with strikeouts.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 2
- West Liberty recorded the first hits of the game with back-to-back singles by Jaden Conrad and Shelby Harris to start the bottom of the second inning, however Glenville State was able to get out of the frame unharmed with three consecutive outs.
- The Hilltoppers were once again able to gain a pair of base runners in the bottom of the fourth as Sara Simon notched a lead off single through the left side and Mallory Rosnick drew a 2-out walk, however a fielder's choice would end the frame and keep the game scoreless.
- Kadence Pettit held a no-hitter through 4.0 innings of action until the Pioneers recorded their first hit with a single to the shortstop in the top of the fifth, however a Rosnick, Conrad, and Harris connection resulted in a double play to end the inning.
- Three runs by GSU in the top of the sixth inning was all that they needed to secure the win and doubleheader sweep as they scored one run on a double to right center, one run on a throwing error, and one run on a passed ball. The Hilltoppers were able to keep the game within striking distance as they forced Glenville State to leave the bases loaded.
- WLU was unable to spark a rally late in the contest as they left a pair of base runners stranded in both the bottom of the sixth and seventh innings. In the sixth Simon knocked a single up the middle and in the seventh Sydney Johnson hit a single to the shortstop while Mancuso hit a single through the left side.
