Greensburg, Pa. – The West Liberty University women's golf team closed out the 2023-24 season with their third top-5 finish of the season as they posted a 36-hole team score of 724 (+164) following a second round card of 362 (+164) on Tuesday. The Hilltoppers were led by a pair of golfers inside the top-20 of the players leaderboard as
Alexis Ramby and
Erin Shockey jumped five and four places respectively in the standings. As Ramby tied a season-low round on Tuesday she finished in 17
th place while Shockey saw a five stroke improvement from round one to round two bring her up to 18
th place. With their results at this week's MEC Spring Classic, combined with their results from the MEC Championship in the fall, both Ramby and Shockey earned All-MEC Honorable Mention honors.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- With a second round score of 82 (+12), Alexis Ramby tied a season-low 18-hole score as she brought her two round total to 170 (+30) for 17th place. She tallied scores of par on eight holes during the day as she jumped five spots on the leaderboard with a six stroke improvement from round one to round two.
- Erin Shockey followed close behind as she totaled a 36-hole score of 171 (+31), besting her score from day one by five with a second round card of 83 (+13). She tallied scores of par on eight holes during Tuesday's round, including a birdie on hole two.
- Sara Simon remained third among the WLU golfers at the MEC Spring Classic but fell four spots on the player leaderboard with a second round score of 98 (+28) bringing her total to 187 (+47) for 29th place. She tallied scores of par on five holes during today's round at the Hannastown Golf Club.
- Payton Sherry held steady in 33rd place on the player leaderboard to close the tournament as her second round score of 99 (+29) brought her 36-hole score to 196 (+56). She tallied scores of par on a pair of holes on Tuesday, notching one on both the front and back nine of the course.
- Anna Griffith saw a 12 stroke improvement in her score from round one to round two, the best by a Hilltopper golfer, as she notched a second round score of 114 (+44) for a total of 240 (+100) through 36-holes. She scored par on one hole during today's round at the MEC Spring Classic.
