12/20/2024 1:00:00 PM

Las Vegas, Nev. – The No. 3-ranked West Liberty University men's basketball team will cap off their Las Vegas Holiday Classic journey this afternoon with a 4:30 p.m. showdown against Missouri S&T at the South Point Arena inside the South Point Hotel and Casino.

The Hilltoppers (11-0, 5-0 MEC) enter the contest riding high after a thrilling 92-87 victory over No. 10 Colorado School of Mines on Thursday night. Kyler D'Augustino spearheaded the attack, dropping a game-high 23 points while adding five rebounds and three steals. JJ Harper followed with a strong performance, tallying 22 points and eight rebounds. Daniel Autrey contributed 13 points, seven rebounds, and three steals to round out the scoring leaders.

Missouri S&T (7-1, 3-0 GLVC) comes into the matchup after suffering their first loss of the season—a 65-52 setback against St. Mary's in their tournament opener. The Miners will look to bounce back in their second and final game of the classic.

The two teams last clashed in Las Vegas on December 18, 2022, when West Liberty secured a 96-88 win. Bryce Butler, now an assistant coach for the Hilltoppers, was the star of that game, leading all scorers with 29 points.
