Institute, W.Va. - The No.4 ranked West Liberty University men's basketball team held of a late charge from West Virginia State to improve to 10-0 overall and 5-0 in the Mountain East Conference with a 92-89 win Saturday night in Institute. 

West Lib enjoyed a 17 point lead 83-66 with 8:30 remaining in the second half, only to see the Yellow Jackets go on a 12-0 run to cut the lead to five, 83-78 with 4:05 left. 

A three from JJ Harper would push the lead back out to eight. 

State would continue to fight and make it a 90-89 with :03 seconds remaining. A pair of Kyler D'Augustino free throws would push the back to three and a final heave from the Yellow Jackets was well off the mark as West Liberty held on. 

Five Hilltoppers finished with double-figures led by JP Dragas with 21 points that featured five-three pointers. Dante Spadafora had 18, Kyler D'Augustino had 15, Kameron Tinsley 12, and JJ Harper 10. 

Next up for the Hilltoppers they will head to Las Vegas to play in the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic on December 19 and 20.  They will face No.10 Colorado School of Mines and Missouri S&T.
