West Liberty, W.Va. - The West Liberty University women's volleyball team opens play Thursday in the Mountain East Conference tournament. The Hilltoppers are the No.2 seed from the north division and they will face the No.3 seed from the south division Concord at 7:30 p.m. at West Virginia State.
The Hilltoppers won the only meeting with the Mountain Lions this season 3-1 on Oct.26th at the ASRC. In that match Riley Cudnik had 14 kills and six blocks, Kyia White had 14 kills and Ashley Cudnik had 12 kills.
WLU closed the regular season by winning nine of their last 13 matches to finish the season 15-14 overall.
Wednesday the MEC released their all-conference teams and four Hilltoppers earned recognition. Riley Cudnik who led the MEC in blocks (129) was named to the first team.
Bella Dart, Grace Hill and Kyia White earned honorable mentions and White was named to the all-freshman team.
