Box Score West Liberty, W.Va. - The West Liberty University women's basketball team defeated Ohio Dominican Wednesday night 91-85 to earn their first win of the season.
Trailing 42-33 at the half, the Hilltoppers outscored the Panthers 35-16 in the third quarter, they closed the third on a 15-1 run for a 68-57 lead.
The Panthers made a strong run in the fourth quarter and cut the lead to two, 87-85 WLU (1-4) with 17.1 left. Junior Bailee Smith knocked down a pair free throws to push the lead back to four, 89-85.
Senior Karli Anker led the way with a team-high 29 points that included seven three-pointers.
She also pulled down seven rebounds and had three steals.
Three other Toppers were also in double-figures, Bailee Smith had 15 points, Olivia Baker had 13 and Anna Lucarelli 12.
