West Liberty.W.Va. - The West Liberty University football team celebrated senior day Saturday at West Family Stadium as they hosted Mountain East Conference leading Charleston. The Golden Eagles would find the endzone three times in the opening half, on their way to a 38-0 win over the Hilltoppers.With the win the Golden Eagles would claim the Mountain East Conference Championship, improving to 9-0, 6-0. Midway through the first quarter Ean Hamric would find Shamarr Wright for a 24 yard touchdown and a 7-0 lead after one. UC would work their way back into the endzone early in the second quarter when the conference's leading rusher Chavon Wright went in from one yard for a 14-0 advantage, he ran for 139 yards in the first half. A NIko Kausky three-yard touchdown run would make it 21-0. UC would add a Levi Paxton 39-yard field goal with five seconds remaining for a 24-0 halftime lead.Â
The Golden Eagles opened the second half on a 13-play 83 yard drive capped by Chavon Wright's second rushing touchdown of the game for a 31-0 UC lead.Â
Wright would score his third touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter, he finished the game with 189 yards rushing and three-touchdowns
Hunter Patterson had a strong afternoon with 110 yards rushing on 18 carries.Â
