Wheeling, W.Va. - The West Liberty University football team dropped their season finale 40-16 at Wheeling University Saturday night at Bishop Schmitt Field.
The Toppers scores came on a Tyler Waddell 32-yard field goal and a Levi Gullion to Ben Turner 75-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, Gullion would hit Hunter Patterson on a screen pass that Patterson turned into a 41-yard touchdown.
Patterson finishes the season with 858 yards rushing and nine touchdowns and 417 yards receiving and four more scores for 1,275 yards of total offense and 13 touchdowns.
Turner ends his season with 854 yards receiving and five touchdowns.
Waddell ends his season a perfect six for six on field goals with a long of 40 yards.
With the loss the Hilltoppers finish their season at 2-9 overall and 2-7 in Mountain East Conference play.
