West Liberty, WV — West Liberty University Baseball has officially released its 2025 season schedule, setting the stage for an exciting year of competition as Coach Eric Burkle embarks on his 12th season leading the Hilltoppers. The team will kick off the season with a series against Shorter University in Rome, GA, on February 7, marking the start of a challenging schedule featuring top regional opponents and Mountain East Conference (MEC) matchups.

The Hilltoppers open their season with back-to-back doubleheaders against Shorter University, followed by another road series against Malone in Mason, OH, on February 22-23. As the season progresses, West Liberty will battle against local rivals and out-of-state teams, with key games lined up in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. The home opener is slated for March 22 against Davis & Elkins, welcoming fans back to West Liberty's Kovalick Field.

"We're ready to hit the ground running this season," Burkle shared. "Our team has been working hard in the offseason, and we're excited to see that hard work pay off on the field. With a mix of veteran leadership and new talent, we're confident we can compete at a high level."

Key matchups this season include conference games against West Virginia State, the University of Charleston, and Glenville State, as well as non-conference battles with Shepherd and Seton Hill. The Hilltoppers will conclude regular-season play with a home-and-away series against Wheeling University, leading into the MEC Tournament in Charleston, WV, from May 7-12.
