West Liberty, W.Va. - The West Liberty University football team will close their 2024 season Saturday at Wheeling University in a 6 p.m. kickoff from Bishop Schmitt Field.
The Hilltoppers will be looking for back-to-back wins in series after taking last year's meeting at West Family Stadium 31-3.
Running back Hunter Patterson enters the game off of a 210 yard and four touchdown performance last week at Fairmont State. Patterson now has 831 yards rushing this season with nine rushing touchdowns. He also has 364 yards receiving and three more scores for 1,195 yards of total offense and 12 total touchdowns.
Receiver Ben Turner sits at 721 yards receiving on the season heading into the match up.
Defensively Trent Crawford has been the leader with 67 total tackles, 15 tfl, 3.5 sacks, 1 interception and 6 forced fumbles.
A win would give head coach Roger Waialae his 99th career victory.
