Daniels, W.Va. - West Liberty University senior Brogan Bennett is the Mountain East Conference Fall Classic Medalist. Bennett finished the three day event with a 216 even par.
His third and final round at the Glade Springs Resort's Cobb Course included an even par effort on the front nine with two-bogeys and two-birdies for a 36, to move him to three-under for the tournament.
On the back nine he gave a stroke back on number 11 with a bogey on the par-4 hole, dropping him to two-under overall. He slipped to one-under for the tournament with another bogey on the par-3 13th. A Bogey on 17 would bring him back to even par, but still a two-shot lead. He closed with a par on the 18th and finished the day with 75 (+3).
Wheeling University's Ryan Courtney and the University of Charleston's Carlos Fernandez Mortera finished tied for second two shots back at 218 (+2).
As a team the Hilltoppers finished in a tie for second with Davis & Elkins at 892. The University of Charleston took the team title at 890.
West Liberty's Justin Doerr turned in a top 10 performance with 225 (+9) total, Jayson Beckner was 14th with a 227 (+11), Noah Seivertson finished 16th at 228 (+12) and Awethu Mkhwanazi was 23rd at 228 (+12).
