Bridgeport, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference announced their Academic All-MEC and Commissioner's Honor Roll teams for the 2023 fall sports seasons, recognizing the sports of football, men's cross country, men's golf, men's soccer, volleyball, women's cross country, women's golf, and women's soccer on Thursday afternoon.
West Liberty saw a total of 92 student-athletes recognized by the conference with 51 earning a spot on their respective Academic All-MEC teams for posting grade-point averages of 3.70-4.00 during the 2023 fall semester. Individuals earning Commissioner's Honor Roll honors were recognized for GPAs of 3.25-3.69.
Led by the football program with 21, WLU saw four teams with more than 15 student-athletes earning recognition, joined by men's soccer (18), volleyball (16), and women's soccer (16). The men's soccer team led the way with 12 individuals' earning a spot on the Academic All-MEC Team's and were joined by football (11) and volleyball (10) who had double figure athletes earn recognition. On the Commissioner's Honor Roll, the Hilltopper football and men's soccer teams each had ten athletes earn honors.
