- Starting the second half a Frostburg State kickoff out of bounds gave West Liberty the ball at their own 45-yard line, however a fumble on the first play of the drive gave the ball to FSU. The WLU defense responded by picking off their first pass of the season the ensuing drive, as pressure from the line on a screen pass allowed John Brown to step in front of the running back and make his second career interception.
- The Hilltopper offense took advantage of the short field position from the interception and moved the ball 38 yards in six plays and one minute and 57 seconds for a touchdown. On the scoring play Rudy Garcia scrambled out of the pocket and found Rashawn Harvey in the right corner of the end zone for his fifth receiving touchdown of the season to make it a 24-7 game following the point after attempt from Tyler Waddell. Garcia completed four consecutive passes to three different receivers on the scoring drive after taking a shot down the field for Harvey on the first play from the FSU 38-yard line.
- Frostburg State added a pair of rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter with runs of 12 and 20 yards by Sean Aaron and Devin Thompson.
- Trevor Lagarde entered the game at quarterback on WLU's final drive of the game, leading the offense on their longest drive of the second half. Lagarde completed 5-of-12 passes on the drive as the Hilltoppers moved the ball 74 yards to the FSU 1-yard line, where the Bobcat defense held on fourth and goal.
