Greensboro, N.C. – The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced their annual ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award winners on Wednesday, with the West Liberty University baseball program earning recognition for the 2022-23 academic year.

After concluding the spring semester with a 3.15 GPA, the Hilltoppers were one of five collegiate programs within the state of West Virginia to earn the award and one of three schools representing the Mountain East Conference. This year marks the second time in the past three years that WLU has earned the award, last winning it in 2020-21.

To earn the achievement, the high school or college's coach must be a current ABCA member, and their team must have maintained a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale for the entire 2022-23 academic year.
