WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. - The West Liberty University men's basketball team has earned a bid to the NCAA Atlantic Region Tournament after winning its second straight and fifth all-time MEC Tournament this past weekend in Wheeling. It is the 14th consecutive season the Hilltoppers have qualified for the NCAA Tournament and will be their 15th appearance in program history. 

The Atlantic Region will be hosted by the No. 1 seed, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, from March 11-14. West Liberty is the No. 2 seed and will take on No. 7 Pitt-Johnstown in the opening round on Saturday at 2:30 pm. A full preview will be released in the coming days.

The regional tournament features an eight team single elimination bracket. A win on Saturday would put the Hilltoppers in the semifinals on Sunday at 5 pm. The regional championship is scheduled for 7 pm on Tuesday. The winner of the Atlantic Region will advance to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight (March 21-25 in Evansville, Ind.).
