FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The West Liberty University softball team lost, 6-0, at Nova Southeastern Saturday afternoon.
The Hilltoppers were held to just one hit and two total base runners throughout the seven inning contest.
Sidney Little had the lone hit, a one-out single in the first inning, then
Taylor Scott reached base off a hit by pitch in the top of the seventh.
The Sharks scored four first inning runs, then went up 5-0 in the second cruising to victory. One more run was added in the sixth for NSU, as they compiled 13 hits in the game.
Ashlyn Tapman got the loss, surrendering five earned runs and 10 hits. She struck out an early career-high five batters in just her third-ever start.
Ryleigh Morgan tossed the final defensive inning for the Black and Gold allowing one run.
No results were submitted for the game versus Mars Hill Saturday morning.
West Liberty will be back on the diamond Sunday wrapping up its Florida trip with a single matchup at Palm Beach Atlantic. First pitch is scheduled for 12 noon.
