Bridgeport, W.Va. – On Monday afternoon West Liberty's
Ty McGeary earned his second Mountain East Conference Wrestler of the Week honor, presented by The Health Plan, for the 2023-24 season. Overall, this marks his fourth career MEC Wrestler of the Week award. The Hilltoppers have now collected three of the four weekly wrestling accolades to open the season.

- NCAA Division II's No. 1 ranked wrestler at 184 pounds in the NWCA poll improved to 9-0 on the season with a pair of wins over NCAA Division I opponents at this weekend's Dragon Duals.
- He opened Sunday with a 14-4 win by major decision over Cameron Pine of Clarion, his sixth bonus point win of the season. He then ended the day with a 10-3 win by decision over Nathan Lapinski of Drexel.
- He recorded six takedowns in the matches compared to zero for his opponents.
