Philadelphia, Pa. – The No. 2 West Liberty University wrestling team took the mat for a pair of duals against NCAA Division I competition on Sunday afternoon, falling to Clarion (30-13) and Drexel (42-3) at the Dragon Duals. The Hilltoppers were led by DII's No. 1 wrestler at 184 pounds, 
Ty McGeary, as he remained undefeated on the season with a 2-0 record against wrestlers for the Golden Eagles and Dragons.

HOW IT HAPPENED VS. CLARION
	- Alexander Crane fell in the opening match of the day for West Liberty, losing by a 16-1 tech fall (4:45) to Joey Fischer at 125 pounds. He surrendered three takedowns and seven near fall points.
- Vincent Scollo picked up the first win of the day for the Hilltoppers, defeating TJ England in a 7-1 decision at 133 pounds. He opened the scoring in the bout with an escape followed by a takedown in the second period. He added a second takedown in the third.
- Khyvon Grace made it two straight wins for the Black & Gold as they took a 6-5 lead in the dual following 4-1 win in sudden victory-1 over Tye Varndell at 141 pounds. The only points in regulation came as each athlete recorded an escape following the start of the second and third periods. Grace ended the match with the takedown in overtime to secure the win.
- The Golden Eagles regained the dual lead with their second tech fall of the day, a 15-0 (2:34) win by Kyle Schickel over Armon Nettey at 149 pounds. Nettey only surrendered one takedown in the match, however Schickel recorded a pair of 4-point near falls and ended the match with two more 2-point near falls.
- Clarion's third tech fall of the day was Alejandro Herrera-Rondon's 16-0 (1:41) win over Tyler Beckley at 157 pounds. Beckley surrendered only one takedown in the bout, but Herrera-Rondon ended it with a trio of 4-point near falls.
- Alec Cook got the Hilltoppers back on the scoreboard as he defeated Trevor Elfvin with an 8-3 decision at 165 pounds. After giving up the first takedown of the match, Cook recorded a pair of takedowns with one in the first and another in the third.
- Breagan Pearson lost by fall (3:14) to John Worthing at 174 pounds. Pearson fell behind in the opening period as Worthing tallied a takedown and a pair of 4-point near falls. Pearson began the second period on top but a reversal set up the pin 14 seconds into the period for Worthing.
- Ty McGeary scored the lone bonus point win of the dual for West Liberty, as he scored a 14-4 major decision over Cameron Pine at 184 pounds. McGeary was in control from the start as he tallied a pair of takedowns in the first period to go up 6-2 after the first three minutes of action. He collected one takedown in both the second and third periods to go along with an escape and the riding time point.
- The second fall of the day for the Golden Eagles came at 197 pounds as Ethan Wiant pinned Keaton Grider in 2:29. Grider surrendered only one takedown prior to getting turned.
- A hard fought 3-0 decision rounded out the first dual of the day at 285 pounds as Austin Chapman earned the win over Jamie Kilmer. Chapman won without recording a takedown in the bout.

HOW IT HAPPENED AT DREXEL
	- The second dual of the day started with a tech fall win for Drexel as Desmond Pleasant defeated Alexander Crane 21-4 (5:41). Crane surrendered six takedowns and a reversal while scoring on four escapes in the 125 pound bout.
- Vincent Scollo dropped a hard fought 3-2 decision to John Hildebrandt at 133 pounds. He scored the first point of the match with an escape in the second period; however, Hildebrandt collected the lone takedown in the third period that would be enough for the win. Scollo got back within one point with another escape in the third.
- Khyvon Grace fell by a 7-3 decision to Gabe Onorato at 141 pounds. Onorato opened the scoring in the first period with a takedown and Grace was able to escape and make it 3-1 after three minutes of action. Onorato tallied one escape in the second and a takedown in the third, while Grace was only able to score on a pair of escapes in the third.
- The Dragons second bonus point win of the day occurred at 149 pounds as Dominic Findora defeated Armon Nettey by tech fall, 18-2 in 3:26. Nettey was able to escape the initial takedown, but Findora's second takedown in the opening period led to a series of nine near fall points. Nettey scored one point on an escape at the end of the first period but the match came to an end in the second with Findora's third takedown.
- A second consecutive tech fall for Drexel came at 157 pounds as Tyler Williams notched a 15-0 win over Tyler Beckley in 3:31. Williams' takedown in the opening period resulted in 11 additional bonus points in the first, before he ended the match 31 seconds into the second period.
- The first win by fall of the dual came at 165 pounds as Cody Walsh pinned Alec Cook in 4:09. Cook surrendered a takedown and 4-point near fall in the first period. In the second period Walsh escaped off the initial restart and got the turn off his second takedown of the bout.
- Drexel secured their fourth consecutive bonus point win with another win by fall as Jack Janda pinned Breagan Pearson in 1:42. Janda was able to get the turn off the lone takedown of the match in the first period.
- Ty McGeary recorded the lone win against the Dragons in the dual, moving to 2-0 on the day with a 10-3 win by decision over Nathan Lapinski at 184 pounds. He never trailed in the bout as he collected the first takedown in the first period and led 3-1 following the first three minutes of action. The pair traded reversals in the second period before McGeary notched an escape, takedown, and secured the riding time point in the third period for the win.
- At 197 pounds, Ibrahim Ameer collected the third win by fall of the dual for the Dragons as he pinned Keaton Grider in 1:44. Ameer was able to get the turn after the initial takedown and a 4-point near fall.
- Jamie Kilmer fell in the final match of the day for West Liberty as he dropped a 9-2 decision to Dominic Petracci. The first points of the heavyweight bout didn't come until the second period when Petracci collected a takedown and Kilmer was able to get an escape. In the third period Petracci added a second takedown and an escape to go along with the riding time point.
